AccessMod (Modeling Physical Access to Health Care) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This site contains a tool for the analysis of physical access
to health care. This tool has been developed by WHO, with the
contribution of the Centres of Excellence (GEOIDE), the
faculty of Medicine of the University of Sherbrooke and the
School of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences of the RMIT
University in Melbourne.

AIHA Program Toolkits (Russian)
The site contains annotated links to toolkits developed by the American International Health Alliance. Toolkit topics include Blood Safety, Healthy Communities, Nursing, Primary Healthcare Centers and Women's Wellness Centers. Primarily developed for the Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia region, the toolkits are applicable for other regions of developing countries.

Disease Control Priorities Project (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This is an ongoing effort to assess disease control
priorities and produce evidence-based analysis and resource
materials to inform health policymaking in developing
countries. DCPP has produced three volumes providing
technical resources that can assist developing countries in
improving their health systems. The site contains PDF and
HTML versions of these reports and a series of fact sheets,
data and maps and interventions related to the reports’
findings. The project is funded by the World Bank.

Global Resource Center: Human Resources for Health (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The Resource Center provides support to human resources for
health (HRH) stakeholders and decision makers via a
web-based, searchable knowledge base and a series of relevant
full-text documents. It also offers personalized support from
an experienced knowledge management team. The site is
maintained by the Capacity Project, a USAID funded endeavor.

Health Manager's Toolkit (Focus on Low-Income Countries) (French, Portuguese, Spanish)
The site provides a selection of tools for health
professionals to provide high quality and sustainable health
services. The tools are organized by subject area and include
spreadsheet templates, forms for data gathering, checklists,
guidelines and self-assessment tools. The content is
available in Spanish, Portuguese and French and is maintained

HRH Global Resource Center (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The HRH Global Resource Center is a global library of human resources for health
(HRH) resources focused on developing countries. It is a library of full-text documents that can be accessed from the project's website. Options to access the material are Browse by subject, Browse by geographic focus, Browse by resource type, a keyword search engine and a listing of Broad subject guides. The resource center has been developed by CapacityPlus and is funded by USAID.

HRH Global Resource Center eLearning Platform (Focus on low-income countries)
Launched in May 2011, the site offers free courses developed by technical experts in the fields of human resources for health, health informatics and health service delivery. The Resource Center’s goal is to build the capacity of country-based users in critical skills development. Additional course offerings will include monitoring and evaluation, and gender issues in HRH. Registration is required but free.

Knowledge Management for Health and Development eToolkit
The KM toolkit brings together a wealth of KM resources from the field of international public health and development that are applicable to the field or can be adapted. The toolkit is structured to encompass all the levels of program planning and implementation for a KM strategy. The toolkit is a product of the Knowledge Management Working Group, a collaborative effort of US based non-governmental organizations, USAID, the USAID Policy Institute and WHO Department of Reproductive Health.

This WHO management tutorial is based on the acronym MAKER or

of resources to Achieve Results". It reviews numerous

projects. MSH is a non-profit educational and scientific
organization that works to bridge the gap between science and
public health. It currently has projects in 15 countries and
works in the areas of primary health care, maternal and child

Patient Safety Solutions
Launched in May 2007, the WHO and Joint Commission
International have developed a site titled "Nine patient
safety solutions". The goal of this endeavor is to help
reduce the toll of health care-related harm affecting
millions of patients worldwide. The topics range from
look-alike medication names to control of electrolyte
solutions, avoiding catheter and tubing misconnections and
single use injection devices. All solutions are available as
downloadable PDF files.

portable Knowledge Assessment Development System (pKADS) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This site is a link to an open source, portable version of
the Knowledge Asset Development system (pKADS) developed by
the United Nations Population Fund. This tool is used to
capture and share knowledge within an organization, by
creating and editing knowledge asset details (categories,
questions and answers, objectives, resources, network
members, etc.) on a computer. It would be applicable to
numerous health related projects.

Public Health Institutes of the World (IANPHI) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
IANPHI is a catalyst for the development and growth of the
world's national public health institutes – or NPHIs.
In collaboration with countries and partners, IANPHI works to

Routine Health Information Network (RHINO) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
RHINO promotes high quality and practical approaches to the
collection and use of routine health information in
developing countries. 'Routine health information' includes
data such as patient records, epidemiological surveillance
data, and vital statistics such as mortality rates. RHINO
provides workshops, on-line forums, a web based bibliography,
full text documents and the
RHINO
Listserv. The project's participants include developing
country governments, donor agencies and technical groups. It
is a joint venture of the USAID-funded MEASURE Evaluation
Project, the World Bank, and John Snow, Inc (U.S.).

The aim of this project is to improve the use of reliable
research evidence in policy and management decisions and to
help fill in the gaps where there is a lack of reliable
evidence. For health policy makers, the site contains concise
