information, MedlinePlus offers links to accurate and current
medical information that has been evaluated by the National
Library of Medicine (U.S.) on more than 750 health topics. It

the latest health news, surgery videos, and interactive
health tutorials. The site has been translated into Spanish
with links to Spanish-language information on the Internet.

MedlinePlus Interactive Health Tutorials
MedlinePlus licenses interactive health education resources
from the Patient Education Institute. These tutorials use
animated graphics to explain over 165 procedures or
conditions in easy-to-read language. The tutorials are useful
for non-English speakers, those with vision disorders, or
those for whom literacy is a concern. Many tutorials are
available in Spanish as well as English. NOTE: These
tutorials require a special Flash plug-in, version 6 or
above. If you do not have Flash, you will be prompted to
obtain a free download of the software before you start the
tutorial.

Medpedia Project
The Medpedia Project is a long-term, worldwide project to develop a new model for sharing and advancing knowledge about health, medicine for medical professionals and the general public. It is similar to the Wikipedia and is based on providing a free and collaborative online technology platform. Editing access to the individual entries is limited to individuals with M.D. or Ph.D. degrees. 'Article' information can be accessed by subject group or a keyword search engine. The site also contains sections titled tools for Medical Professionals, Patients and Organizations.

NLM Gateway
NLM Gateway is a Web-based system that lets users search
simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S.
National Library of Medicine (NLM). It allows users of NLM
services to initiate searches from one Web interface,
providing "one-stop searching" for many of NLM's information
resources or databases. The gateway is targeted to the
Internet user who comes to NLM not knowing exactly what is
there, or how best to search for it.
